The World's Only Touchless Cane Toad Trap provides round the clock cane toad removal!
1. Be sure that doors on both sides are secured behind the entry ramps and that each rod has a holding pin in place. The steel rods always stay in place. The white rods are the locking rods that will be removed before disposal and reinstalled when resetting your CANE CATCHER®.
2. Place CANE CATCHER® in a shaded area, preferably near a light source, and check regularly, especially in high activity areas. It is not necessary to bait as the cane toads are naturally attracted to the Cane Catcher by design. However, to increase your catch rate, a small bit of dry pet food or shrimp pellets can be placed inside the center U shape inside.
TIP: If no light source is available, try placing a solar light next to it to attract more toads.
3. Use the handle to lift CANE CATCHER® to an area where you will be able to easily dispose. Check for non-targeted animals by looking through the viewing windows. If non-targeted animals are seen, skip to instruction #6.
4. Remove the pin from the end of one of the white locking rods and slide the rod out of the slot. Hold over a trash bin or attach a heavy duty trash bag to the protruding side hooks on the end farthest from you and invert CANE CATCHER® with the removed rod side face down allowing the doors to swing open and toads to fall into the bin or attached bag. Close or cover quickly to prevent escape. Dispose of toads humanely.
5. Re-set CANE CATCHER® by reinstalling the white locking rod and pin. Make sure the doors are returned to their position behind the entry ramp. There is no need to clean it each time as the odor is an attractant.
Unlike conventional traps, there are no sharp wires or edges for animals to injure themselves on, allowing the user to humanely release non-target animals. Trapped animals may be aggressive so use CAUTION when emptying your CANE CATCHER® . Simply flip CANE CATCHER® upside down (handle facing the ground) to allow the animal(s) to escape. This can be done from a safe distance by wedging a pole underneath to flip it. Depending on the catch (seen through the viewing window) you may want to contact a professional for assistance.
